Why You Should Be Body Brushing

Body brushing is one of the easiest ways to detoxify the body, but why is it so important?

Dry brushing and body brushing is said to be the best thing to do before using a beauty treatment along with a whole host of other benefits to your skin and health in general. Body brushing is a great way to drain the lymphatic system and get rid of nasty toxins, dead skin cells and excess fluid (cellulite) which can get trapped inside the body. Not only that, dry brushing is a good mood booster and can help your mind feel de-stressed, energised and clear.

Here are some beneficial tips for successful body brushing;

1. Do it first thing in the morning, it’s going to make all the difference to your mood and set you on the right foot for the rest of the day.

2. Start from the bottom of the body, working in circular and sweeping motions ensuring you focus on every area of the body.

3. Try incorporating one of our coffee scrubs whilst you body brush and reap even more benefits.

4. Washing your body brush regularly after every use with hot soapy water, or essential oil will keep your brush in top condition.

Hard exfoliation is never the point when dry brushing, so try to avoid using a brush that has bristles which are too stiff. We love to use this one by ‘The Body Shop’
